Here’s another fine ad from John Lewis:
Charmingly shot, affectionately portrayed, satisfyingly resolved.
What do we say when this happens nowadays?
I quite like chapeau.
30 seconds of that would’ve been enough.
That’s one hell of a fart she lets rip in the swimming pool. Covered up what would otherwise have been a risky gusset shot.
Chapeau to the post team for that one.
Yes it goes on a bit.
nice work but makes me feel like going to sleep after about 20 secs
saw the same ad for the BBC a couple of years ago. even had the logos at the end…
It’s a nice (if slightly dull) bit of film with a logo at the end. That doesn’t make an ad. It doesn’t even pluck the heart strings like the previous John Lewis work from A&EDDB. Less chapeau, more caleçon, I reckon.
it does feel too familiar to say “chapeau” me thinks.
Bit thin on idea, but a very nice bit of craft.
Nice bit of film, but what the fuck is up with that new retro logo on the endframe? Hope that’s temporary.
It’s less aspirational department store, more Sue Ryder charity shop.
I’m guessing it’s another Dougal Wilson effort? Cause that school gym class scene looks an awful lot like his Temper Trap video.
As others have said it’s all about the craft here. Everything is captured beautifully but it’s lacking a strong idea.
