What Do you think of this?

I think the performances are good, but I’m sure I’ve seen random people doing film lines somewhere before.
And if they’re bringing new films to London, why is London quoting old films?
Performances are ok apart from the lame Napoleon Dynamite dude at the end.
Strategy is a bit off with old films but then again most people do relate better to what’s gone before than anything new e.g. BTTF1 V BTTF2.
goodby silverstein did thie decades ago for the Mill Valley film festival. Smith and Wollensky steak house in New York did it years ago too. etc etc
i quite like it
fucking gash
I quite like them, in that sort of ‘ahh, now what film’s that from?’ sorta way.
But yeah, feel like I’ve seen it before too.
Boring,
What a waste of time, effort and money.
Take some risks for fuck sake!
This is another of those ads where you see people doing stuff and then you see other people doing the same stuff and then other people doing the same stuff and so on until eventually, like after you see the first group of people doing the said stuff, you get it.
…this one:

Hey, let’s make an ad using lines from new films that no-one’s seen yet. That’ll work.
Been done at least once that I know of and that was when I did it for The Edinburgh International Film Festival 5 years ago.
Truth is, it’s an easy idea – easy for the creatives to come up with (I speak from experience) and easy for a client to buy.
Bored
Love the dynamite ending. Pardon the pun.
No Country for Old Men scene was worth a chuckle.
Problem with it, for me, is that you’re never, ever, in a million years, gonna be anywhere near as good as the original performances.
Therefore, my friends, we are left with a meh pie with whatever sprinkles and a side order of snore. All served up in a couldn’t give a fuck dish.
Not entirely original. Well not at all given the comments above, but still really nicely observed, good casting & performances, good locations etc – I’ve watched it a few times already.
Any idea who the director is?
this is a really clever film that makes me want to view it again and again – therefore i think it’s an ace ad. i understand that somewhere out there similar things have been done before, but fuck it, it makes it no less entertaining…
i saw this at the cinema and i walked out half way through.
not really.
but you get my point.
fucking fred
@ George: Chris Palmer.
lol at Pauline
ruthless sarcasm
what film is the first one
i think it’s pretty funny actually. the last king of scotland scene with the traffic warden made me chuckle.
can’t work out where the pub scene is from?? anyone know?
Not good.
i think it’s sweet. nicely observed and subtle. love the lido scene, is that from clerks?
It’s better than a lot of the crap out there at the moment. what have you made recently?
Nicky,
I made a crap about half an hour ago. It was better than this.
Badlands is the first one. And American Beauty is in the pub.
fucking gash!
(Ben, i got a ‘duplicate comment’ warning for this. Since when were people not allowed to say the same thing twice?)
Who is Damo? I really want to hire an intellect like that…
What are the hours?
(This Is Spinal Tap)
Hilarious, Pauline! I rather liked it. And remember, the public isn’t as astute and tuned in to everything that has gone before as some of us. So it is original? No. Is it funny? Yes. Does it make the point? Yes. I also like the one at the link Andwaddabout provided. Same idea; different twist.
The Hours are ‘one of the most dynamic and provocative rock ensembles on the London music scene today’.
According to their website.
Director was Chris Palmer at Gorgeous.
don’t know if i’m being obtuse here but: what film is this?
cheers
