Anon number 10 – Micah Walker and Ruth Belotti (creative director and art director) are English innit. Which suggests the problem with our advertising isn’t necessarily with the creative abilities of us Englanders.
If anyone cares (highly unlikely), I took the Evian ad down because I neglected to give it the shoeing it really deserved. Its absence also denies the brand any further publicity (which, as an opponent of bottled water, I believe is the right thing to do).
Not sure what came over me in putting it up, to be honest. Thanks to Michael Knight for setting me straight.
@nobby
Micah is American mate. He worked at Fallon with Juan in London but he’s still a yank. He’s been at Mojo Sydney for about 3 years, was at Leo’s here for a bit too I think.
Have you seen the campaignbrief.com thread on this? Some contributors are suggesting it’s been influenced by a Japanese ad. Don’t quite see it myself, though.
Paul, if you were a CD would you chuck this out because of that Skoda ad? Of course you would. And British advertising would continue to be to be utterly shit for another year.
It’s quite sweet even though the ideas been done before (was it Skoda Fabia with the mean thing). You can see the input of the Kuntz. Good work.
loved the bit with the wrestlers.
i actually spat a bit of my all bran out laughing at that bit. no joke.
muchos like-os.
Best new ad for ages
Executed much better
I loves it!
Very sweet.
Kuntz strikes again.
May I have another 1664 instead ?
beer ads are great everywhere at the mo apart from the uk..
I like it so much I want to cry.
Problem is UK beer ads are trying to be to clever and arty for their own good. While the Aussies just have a laugh.
@#10 Amen brother.
I just look at this and just think, why can’t we do anything this good anymore?

I cared and you cared enough to take it down. I’m willing to bet there are a few others who will.
Nice strapline and ad but getting a bit of ‘MAN’ fatigue. I prefer the Hugh Hefner one.

Micah’s actually American. Although he used to work at Fallon London I think.

I do see similarities in basic concept. But agree with a comment over there. It’s the brewing process.
Boag’s by the same agency was better. This is good but so reminiscent of Traktor’s style/Skoda/other stuff.
And it’s got super added but what about the dry?
By the way, does anyone know where Micah is from?

Very good. Funny, enjoyable, silly, beer. Thumbs up.
ooooooooooooh, so good
@p Campaign Brief is an utter shit fight when it comes to anything Mojo related. Bitchfest extraordinaire.
@paul – he’s american.
