Can’t really fault this

Maybe leave out the little curious grunts of the inventor?
But that’s a minuscule point up against the charming, beautifully executed loveliness of another brilliant Honda ad.
Beautifully executed. It feels like the same brief as the 2009 ‘Everything’ spot. Instead of Honda doing ‘everything’ in 2013 they are ‘curious’ about everything.
‘Innit.’
Everything spot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvCMVqfnZGE
recycled strategy – really beautiful execution.
Of course.
It’s just a reworking of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiBX8MkFkd4
Cracking stuff. It’s not easy to pack everything a company does into one advert so effortlessly.
One of those super simple ideas that doesn’t look much on paper.
It’s all in the execution and technique.
Which is beautifully done.
Like most movies these days, it’s just a bit too long. Yeah, I know, nitpicking twat.
I quite like the grunts though.
Love it.
True – it is too long, but the craft is sublime.
Brilliant. Smith & Foulkes smash it again.
And yes: it is a bit long, and I’m not sure why they repeat certain vehicles (motorbike, normal car). Maybe to avoid being EXACTLY like an animated Impossible Dream.
Still excellent, though.
Have to hand it (I know, I know) to W&K for selling it too. It breaks so many rules that most clients would have a nosebleed. Much like their ‘orangey fat bloke walks down a beach on his tod’, Southern Comfort ad. Most booze clients would have ended the meeting on hearing the words, “We open on a fat bloke…”. Err… “an aspirational fat bloke?”… “Well, no. Just, you know, a regular fat bloke. With a Zapata moustache.”
Very nice. But unlike Cog, Grrr, Impossible Dream or even that one with the funny edits that Scott Lyon shot, do I feel compelled to watch it again? No. Would I pass it to my mates? No. Do I wish I’d done it? Yes.
A really lovely ad. Beautifully executed. Made me smile. Then I watched Impossible Dream again, and I got goose-bumps.
Fuck, Honda ads are good.
Saw these as idents and thought it was a bit poo, but seeing them as a long form ad it really works and feels really fresh. Proves that Trevor was wrong about the 5 second thing.
Seriously? I mean… seriously?
Ben, it’s boring. Like, properly boring.
Impossible Dream is one of my favourite Honda spots, and this is it without the charm.
But mostly, just… Boring.
(Also, you know, this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fl3-aApUICY)
A bit boring and feels like a trade ad that you play in car shows.
Lovely craft though. Imagine how crap would it be if it was for Ford, or Citroen?
Kinda reminds me of this:

Let’s show all the cool shit Honda has done. They’ve done this before much better as other have pointed out.
It is nicely made but I doesn’t compare to Impossible Dream.
And I’m sure it’s just me but for some reason Asimo really pisses me off. Does that fucker do anything useful or does he just walk about like a smug twat?
^^
Comment of the week.
@ ALS. Totally disagree with your comment about it being boring.
Also, while we’re on the subject of boring, it might a good idea to take a fresh look at your website…mind numbingly dull!
Back to the ad, it’s a great job and another great ad from W+K. God those guys know how to knock it out of the park on a regular basis. Would LOVE to work there!
