One ad for the price of two that doesn’t tell you anything besides “this car’s for villains who like to go fast (Jaguar?) and the other one is for normal schmucks like you and me”. Otherwise it’s nice “content”.
Regardless, there IS an idea in this surely? Something like the R version is the evil twin/dark side of the normal car? Then they use the technology/execution to bring that to life. Ads don’t always have to wear the idea like a cheap suit to have an idea in them, do they?
It’s the old “in a work of genius execution becomes content” thing here. And if I’m not mistaken the actor is a French guy who was in the amazingly awesome Audiard film A PROPHET.
Just to make myself clear, I love it, and of course there’s an idea. I was just anticipating the argument (which I’ve noticed often comes up around W+K’s work?), but looks like everyone sidestepped it.

‘Where’s the idea?’
Vs.
‘But it’s fun and cool and pretty’
FIGHT!
love it. a truly inteRactive ad. nicely done.
Come on Putney, the idea’s pretty f-ing obvious. So, OK, the idea is the proposition, but all the same…

This is good. It kept my attention for the length of the ad which doesn’t happen very often. Well do everyone involved.
Could easily work on the telle box as well. Play both on two seperate channels at once and go mad flicking between the two.
Idea:
“The practical family hatchback with a bit of the devil inside it”
How’s that?

It’s basically Tim & Naresh’s First Direct ad where you switched TV channels to see the other side.
But it is very well done.
