Neville Brody, Jonathan Glazer and the rebrand of Channel 4

Creative Review has all the background here.
But I imagine most of the talk will be around Mr. Glazer’s weird and very wonderful idents.
Closer to Under The Skin than any of his recent ad work, this is an amazing collection of visuals in a narrative that makes just enough sense to confuse and delight in equal measure.
Nice one, Chris and John (and everyone else).
A Black Pencil is on the way.
Dare I say ” a bit over indulgent?”
Well I said it anyway. I didn’t like Sony Balls either so my opinion is clearly wrong.
@Shirl: I think that’s fair, but that’s also what I like about it.
We could do with a bit of overindulgence these days.
In a world of chronic underindulgence maybe you’re right. Someone has to start the pendulum swinging the other way.
wow
In the words of Barry Davies (World Cup ’86): “You have to say, that’s magnificent”.
What the fuck did I just watch?
I think the idents are ahead of their time.
The print / off air work feels like i’ve seen it in the past. Nowhere near as progressive.
Brave work. From the original concept for the identity through to these film idents.
Always great to see brave work.
I agree the print is where the challenge will come…
Hats off to all involved.
