Blimey Dave, you have utterly depressed me. The link has unleashed a torrent of piss on my last embers of hope. Just this once, I put my cynicism to one side, next to me, on a low table. It’s not that the idea was that great, but now, gosh, I am broken. I am off to Play RIO in the can.
all nice and well. but what does it leave the viewer with? probably a thought √† la ‘looks like fun! where can i do that?’
so a) nowhere. which is a bit disappointing. and disappointment, thats the hole point yeah.
or b) they take that on the road. so the whole ad makes sense. otherwise its just a really nice piece of wank.
I think artifice is ok in a tvc if everyone knows it’s a set up situation for the purposes of entertainment, but when it pretends to be real, but isn’t – that kinda stinks. It assumes that the people watching (ie- the real non-advertising people out there) are stupid – it is trying to decieve. And so I don’t like it.
Actual bullshit. Don’t fall for this fake 6 people take part wank for a Cannes film entry. You are actually thick Ben!
It feels really fake though, because they’ve used actors instead of real people.
I thought they always used actors. It’s a bunch of actors having a bit of fun. What’s wrong with that?
Fake. Set up. Shite.
Was it actually real? Did controlling the phone actually control the angle of the birds?
Bit weird for a technology company to fake these things. Makes me not want to use their service.

Aren’t all ads kind of fake? Couldn’t you watch all ads and say “bet that never really happened!”
I think without the fake actors cheering along it wouldn’t work at all. And it does work. IMVHO
This is post-post-post-modern. Faked reality for something as fake as an ad.
What next? Is Santa Claus dead?
Holy shit Ben. Santa Claus is dead? Fuck, bummer… what’ll I tell the kids?

Sorry. But I really hate this.
