The only ad I can remember from the time I was on holiday is this one:

I would imagine a five-year-old could think of cars as an analogy for internet speeds, but it’s so lovingly crafted with such charming touches that it gets away with it.
Most of us have forgotten about the bad old days of dial-up connections and the like, so this gentle reminder of how far the internet has come is a pleasant way to make the present/future seem even better.
Yes, it’s lovingly crafted. But why did it need almost 2 minutes to tell that story?
Obvious, but that in itself begs the question, why hasn’t the car analogy been used before. Has it been used before?
Lots of cute touches (spam police, train crossing etc), and like you say, it reminds you how far we’ve come in a relatively short amount of time!
Would you rather have an entire career of equisitely executed ads, all driven by pretty facile concepts, or an entire career of conceptually genius work but always executed slightly underwhelmingly?
The former. I think that many great ideas have been disguised by underwhelming execution. It makes it hard to admire them.
