Weekend Etc.

I love bookshelves. I think they are art in themselves, so imagine my delight when I found this website.
Scorsese vs Kubrick:
Kubrick vs Scorsese from Leandro Copperfield on Vimeo.
And someone has done a brilliant mashup of the pulled Flake ad and Surfer.
Enjoy the weekend.
I shall be supporting Brazil, North Korea, Chile, Switzerland, England, Mexico and, of course, the Old Spice ad.
Bookshelf porn.
Brilliant
In other news, you're saying 'cunt' a lot recently.
I am, aren't I?
Good word, cunt.
It won't be long before some cunt nicks the bookshelf porn idea for a bookstore campaign.
Then they'll end up on copycunts.
where they really say 'cunt' a lot
Fuck me that Flake ad is good. Just seen it for first time. I would feel like jumping off a bridge if I'd made that and it got pulled at last minute. The best thing you'll ever probably make and its canned at the last minute.
jesus, what's the fuss over the flake ad? it looks awesome. why on earth would anyone pull that. esp. in UK where you're all heathens let's face it. 😉
it looks great. i bet the music is great too. thanks for posting. ditto on scorsese kubrick thing.
and yes, if old spice doesn't win THE grand prix i'll buy a hat and eat the fucking thing.
Hi Ben, I'm not sure if you have been to the d&ad new blood this year but wondered if yourself or any of your readers have noticed the amount of copied work on show?
The one that pissed me off the most actually won a new blood award for their work on IKEA. I wont mention names but it's a complete copy and paste of this
http://www.coloribus.com/adsarchive/prints/ikea-poang-13293155/
that won countless awards last year. I raised the issue of this on the d&ad message board but it was subsequently deleted, which was no surprise. I just think it's a shame that the amount of times the industry has had a go at each other about this sort of behaviour and is meant to be clamping down on it at awards, d&ad of all people should have noticed. What's more the piece in question was not only judged by d&ad but also ikea, surely they must have realised the work was copied. Anyway as you can tell i'm pissed off and it ruined an otherwise good night knowing that these two con artists now have an award to their name whilst other hard working students go without.
