I have to say, though, that they have left out the balancing fact that women earn much more in the pornographic film industry.
But it’s a start.
At least one in four are victims of domestic violence? Bollocks. It only takens one over-claim to kill a whole ad.
No denying the message of this is pretty big. In particular, the stat of 2 women a week being killed by current or former partners is staggering.
But Jesus Christ, dressing James Bond up in drag is NOT the way to get said message across. I laughed when I saw this film, which I’m pretty sure is not what the creators intended.
And here is the Sam Taylor-Wood REM video with aaron johnson being a bit gay.
bond in a frock? jeez.
also, it’s quite easy to make drama out of any statistic, and they had some interesting ones they could have played off.
over all not as interesting as jerry and mike’s domestic violence ad they filmed in leytonstone. which used one of the facts from this film. just one.
Nice rack 007… It’s far too long and using a fictional character doesn’t really work for me.
As soon as Bond came out in drag it fell apart. And why use Bond? He’s hardly you’re average man is he? It was just Dame Judi Dench reading out the stats from the brief.
what annoys me a bit is that they used the victim numbers. portraying women as victims wont help much overcoming the status quo. i am not a victim. and i will do anything to not become one, ever. fight, bitches! apart from that, first of all, i am a human, and a woman second.
something is wrong when lesotho can be seen as a better place for women than some countries of the great developed world.
oh, and ben, is that really the case? now that its all about free porn. its a bit like crowdsourcing in the ad industry, innit 😉
Daniel Craig in a dress and blonde wig looks alarmingly like Sam Taylor-Wood. You never see them in the same room together, do you..?
Jesus. First we give them the vote and now this. Bond cross-dressing? FUCK OFF. The late, great Ian Flemming would be turning in his grave. How the hell did they get the rights to use his character in this whining (not winning) piece of shit, anyway?
Ben – you’ve chosen to credit the director in the headline of the post. Is there a particular reason for this? I only ask because unless the original script was a lot more complex and the director chose to simplify it (I guess we’ll never know), I’m at a loss to see what the director actually did that warrants the headline credit. Apart from turn up.
It was more that I thought people might like to know she is responsible, rather than me giving her a big pat on the back.
The reaction I was expecting was something like, ‘Sam Taylor-Wood did that? She’s a bit fucking shit and lazy, innit?’
2 women a week?
That’s only 104 a year.
If half of our 60,000,000 population are women* that’s 30,000,000.
When I type in 104√∑30,000,000 my calculator says:
Now, I don’t know what the fuck that means. But I know it’s a fucking small percentage.
So, you could argue that, statistically, it’s not a big issue**.
* Ignoring children etc to make a point.
** This comment is clearly all a fucking joke, so don’t get too irate lezzas/feminists, I don’t really mean it.
Bottom line is, a femail 007 would not be as good as a mail one. Fact.
She’s a bit fucking shit and lazy, innit?
Well let’s put it this way….I don’t Sam’s ‘treatment’ could have run to more than, say, two lines……
Which she snorted then fucked off for lunch.
Cripes Ben….you’re not suggesting there’s some drug taking going on in this business are you….I for one find that shocking.
