Changing the subject slightly …well, totally (as I can’t see Orson either)…Paul Weinberger resigned this week as Tesco’s goes to pitch. I had the honour of working for him for a while, so for all creative directors in training, here’s a link to his ’50 ways to turn down an ad’ courtesy of Steve & Adrian’s lovely website. Nurse!
Inspirational….then again I’ve been trading on my ignorance for years (not counting my 4 O levels and cycling proficiency cerstificate).
Awesome Orson. Not a bad ambition. And great hair too.
I fully endorse ignorance. It might not make you seem credible in conversation but you have more chance of stumbling down an untrodden creative path.
How cool does Orson look?
And have you ever heard anyone with a voice that’s within 50 miles of that duvet full of encyclopaedias?
I love the line “I didn’t know what I couldn’t do.”
Some D&AD results are out – 9 pencils in radio…
DDB got one for photography
No english winners in press
presenting them at the end of the week
actually those could be 9 nominations in radio
the nav on the site is unclear
“…no one could look at the rushes but me”.
Seems key.
Very zen:
The headline said “The Great Gift Of Ignorance”
The caption on the TV shape said “Sorry, this video does not exist”.
Very Zen. Oh well…

Very good.
Thanks, SC.
Ben,
I found a copy of the same thing on YouTube. Maybe this one won’t get taken down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibaKFb33a10&feature=player_embedded
Thanks for that.
Wise words from Orson.
Hilarious ones from Mr Weinburger. I had work rejected by at least a dozen of those lines in my time back at Lowes.
Happy days.
