4 Creative does it again
Posted in Uncategorized
Last year I freelanced at 4 Creative for a month. Happy, happy times: great work, lovely people and an agency that is also a production company and (sort of) a client.
The CD at the time was Tom Tagholm, who also directed many of their best ads. He’s left to direct full-time, but is still producing absolutely brilliant work for them (the embedding is disabled because of some music rights hoo-haa).
It makes having a missing limb seem, well, cool.
Great track (Public Enemy), and brilliantly shot.
It feels like the ad Nike should have made.
Hats off.
Stunning. Really awesome.
Brilliant.
If I wore a hat it would be off.
AMAZING
Can’t argue with that. It’s a great piece of work and never gets cheapened by a brand hijack. Or Usain fucking Bolt.
Love it.
Great line at the end.
I’ve also freelanced at 4 Creative in the past and you’re right – top place.
Excellent. I must admit to feeling a bit indifferent about the Paralympic Games (slaps own wrist) but now I want to watch them. So that must make it a good advert.
Brilliant!
Blimey. That is good. Love the Lynx spot also. Inspiring stuff.
First Susan Glenn and now this. It might be time to quit advertising and take up farming.
Wonderful.
In the battle of paralympic ads, which takes the Gold, this or Canada’s? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUYUvY6quE0
This.
It’s not a cheesy analogy.
Saw this on telly last night.
Youtubing again it was the first thing* I did when I got to my desk this morning.
Generally, when I see a good ad, I allow myself to fantasise about what my contribution to the work might have been if it was my brief. Usually, in this ego-fueled alternate reality, my involvement improves the work.
On this occasion, I can categorically state that my version of this ad would have been approximately one million times shitter.
Wonderful, wonderful stuff.
love it. who shot it?
The aforementioned Tom Tagholm also directed it.
Here’s an article from Televisual which has Tom talking about the project. And which credits everyone involved – not least Rich Martin, super talented Sound Designer:

It was a 14 day shoot. Just thought you’d like to know that if you’re about to go into a meeting with a Cost Consultant who is hell bent on shrinking your shoot down to a single straight day….
Agree with CMYKay – wasn’t going to watch, will now. Good ol’ advertising hey?
I just realised I wrote that embedding is ‘disabled’.
Best use of music in an ad since Over The Rainbow and In The Air Tonight?
(We’re talking properly good use of music, not some acoustic cover of a song with appropriate lyrics.)
And talking of the track, more Welsh stars feature in the spot than you might realise –
