Thanks to the Adanarchist for pointing out this hilarious april fool’s day spoof from mother

But it’s a bit obvious, isn’t it?
The awful jokes, the dreadful production values, the utter cuntosity of the unbelievably unfunny comedians.
Can’t wait to see what the real ad looks like.
Dayam. Mother just got buuuuuuurned.
It’s like a less funny 10 ‘o clock show meets the worst bits of The Word meets a large stool committed to film. In HD.
The only thing that would make me laugh would be if the entire cast suffered an immediate bout of aids. Sores an’ all.
That said, I still fucking love Mother for doing something that isn’t just another shit conventional client-friendly pile a wallpooper.
you are evil 🙂
im tired of the shoe cliche. women do not have a shoe gene. they just have to get shoes that match all the various outfits and identities they are supposed to buy. the same pair of shoes doesnt work for long trousers, short trousers, jeans, long dress, short dress, long skirt, short skirt, walking around all day (if you havent botoxed your feet) or not, casual, business, and so on… so much for emancipation. i feel so liberated. thank you very much. just go ahead and have a laugh at all my shoes and clothes.

Like Loose Women but filled with even more horrible tits.
Ha ha, brilliant. I totally fell for it at first. Who says Mother have totally lost it and are churning out some major gusset custard? Not me, that’s for sure.
I really laughed at the ninjas bit.
it seemed equally as funny as mock the week, which i don’t think is all that funny, but plenty of other people do.
Mary – Don’t buy so many bloody clothes then.
no.9, its very simple, but ill explain for you again, as you have a hard time understanding the matter. are you a woman?
when a man buys one pair of trousers, a woman has to choose, at least, between a pair of trousers and a skirt. that was basic and simplistic. and is to be understood as a starting point. try tversky and kahnemann for further investigation.
[insert headline about how mother are twats]
[insert advert done by mother]
[insert scathing assessment of said advert]
[retain rancid bitterness towards mother and
prepare to scathingly attack their next advert]
Bit fucking predictable and boring Ben.
Not particularly funny ad.
But at least it isn’t like all the other shit out there.
Hats off to it being different. Hats back on to it being shit.
I have nowt against Mother or anyone who works there (I only know one of their employees). I just wish I liked their ads more.
I’ll say again, I want to like ads. I want there to be millions of great ads. I want to like Mother’s ads. The problem is that they’re often a bit shit (see Stella; PG Tips is treading some very dull water; I have no idea what anyone sees in anything done so far for Ikea; um… I can’t think of anything else they’ve done lately. Match.com was good. I think I said so on my blog. And I like Butlins as well).
Why does it feel so fake? Why not give it a genuine ‘Ready, Steady Cook’ live feel?
I actually liked it.
Not because it was particularly funny.
But because it was odd. Its unlike anything Ive seen for a while. WHich I liked.
(And Mother are still one the best creative agencies at the moment, depsite them being a little off at times lately).
Hats off to writing a book. Hats back on to it being shit.
I have nowt against you. I just wish I liked your writing more.
I‚Äôll say again, I wanted to like your book. I want there to be millions of good books. I want to like all of your books. The problem is that it’s a bit shit.
Fingers crossed for the next one.
As you have wonderfully pointed out, we are all entitled to our opinions.
Send me your address and I’ll send your money back.
@Too Tempting
I have nothing for or against Ben, but surely if you don’t like his writing you don’t have to read his blog…?
Sorry about your ikea ad btw.
@Gilbert
Shit a brick. How dare you accuse me of writing the ikea ad. From my balls to my bellend I am offended.
I was merely pointing out the wonderful comparison it presented (hence ‘Too Tempting…’)
I can only assume you have not read his book. His book is about insect gore (amongst other things of course Ben). This blog is about ads (amongst other things of course Ben).
I enjoy reading his blog. Not his book.
These two things are not mutually inclusive.
Bit late, but this is a hilarious insight into just how this dross was created: http://thejohnfleming.wordpress.com/2011/03/10/a-funny-thing-happened-to-ikea%E2%80%99s-image-at-yesterday%E2%80%99s-shambolic-public-relations-disaster/
